Fifth Grade Monochromatic Paintings

Students in fifth grade are learning about value by studying the work of Pablo Picasso and his Blue period. Students chose musical instruments to paint using only tints and shades of one color:

Penguins in Perspective

Students in second grade studied the idea of space in art, learning about near and far and horizon line. They created penguin collages to demonstrate their learning:


Upper Grades Color Study

Students in grades four and five have also been exploring the color wheel. Grade four students made color wheels out of shapes that they created:

Fifth graders studied the famous Rene Magritte work, The False Mirror, and created color wheels based on this painting:

Kindergarten Color Study

Kindergarten students have been learning the ins and outs of color: the rainbow, primary and secondary, warm and cool.
