Happy 2019!

Welcome back to school for the new year! Hopefully everyone had a wonderful vacation and holiday! Here is what we were working on at the end of 2018:

First grade was learning about shapes and patterns through studying the work of Wassily Kandinsky, Kente cloth, and Romero Britto:









Students in first grade are also learning about the artistic process and creating "choice" works of art of their own design:



Second grade learned about how line can show movement, as well as creating patterns through weaving an Ojo de Dios:



Some students liked this technique so much that they created their own at home:







Students studied OP Art artists and created more patterns using complementary colors:

Kindergarten Shape Study

Kindergarten students have been learning about shapes and creating artwork by using them.
