Finished 5th Grade Ceramic Houses

As promised, here is some of the 5th graders' finished artwork from our texture unit.

Third graders studied the work of artist Henri Rousseau and learned to created depth 
through the use of overlapping, and foreground, middle ground, and background.

Kindergarten Studies Space and Movement

The kindergartners have been busy over the last couple of weeks studying movement and space in a piece of art. Students started by studying the artist Keith Haring and creating figures in his style. There is a Keith Haring for Kids website that you can check out at http://haringkids.com/. In the meantime check out some of the moves the kinders had:


Kinders also studied space in a picture through reading the book Corduroy and creating a roomy bedroom for him:



Lastly, in celebration of Groundhog Day, students learned how to make shadows and help their drawings look more real in space. They learned about burrowing animals as well:
