Welcome
Welcome to the JRB art blog! If you are a parent, I hope seeing what we are creating in class will help you discuss your child's artwork with them!

Kindergarten Bottle Cap Saving
Dear Kindergarten Parents,
In celebration of Earth Day this year, starting on April 9th, the kindergarten classes will be working together to create a large-scale mural celebrating our Earth. The mural will be made entirely of bottle caps. I have been collecting bottle caps of various sizes and colors throughout the year, however, I am asking for your help to ensure we have enough to create our mural.
Over the next two weeks, please collect and save all bottle caps used by your family. You can even enlist the help of grandparents or friends! I am going to talk to the kindergarteners about this and get them excited about collecting. Bottle caps should be plastic and can been any color or size up to about 2 inches in diameter. Bottle caps should be sent in to school on April 9th.
Thank you in advance for all of your help, and remember to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!

Papier Mache in Progress
If anyone has seen the art room lately, you know we are fully immersed in the papier mache process! A HUGE thanks to those parents who have been brave enough to weather the papier mache storm with me! Here is a pic of the kids hard at work!
Kindergarten Papier Mache Hearts
The week before vacation the kindergarteners had their first experience with papier mache.
