Kindergarten Learns about Shape
Kindergarteners began their study of shape by reading the book Pezzetino by Leo Lionni
and creating a friend for the main character:
Kindergarten then continued their study of shape with a holiday project: Shape Turkeys!
Rotation 2: Shape and Line
During the second rotation, students learned about shape and line and created artwork, which used those elements. Take a look at their artwork:
Grade 5:
"Falling for Foreshortening" ~ Students learned how to use a perspective tool called foreshortening to create depth and three-dimensionality in their work.
Grade 4:

Grade 2:
Students studied the artist Keith Haring and learned how line can show movement in a work of art.
Grade 1:
Students learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky and made Flint corn in style of his piece, Squares with Concentric Circles.

Additionally, students studied the artist Kimmy Cantrell and created "shape masks".
Kindergarten:
Students continued to learn about the kinds of lines and created "magic carpets" while also learning about the colors of the rainbow.
